Outside Hetscale, quarantined, gone from Hetzner
Last updated
Every read of a project sorts the servers that belong to no node group, or that Hetzner stopped listing. The dashboard counts them across all your projects, and a project’s Reconciliation tab counts them for that project: “Outside Hetscale”, “Quarantined” and “Gone from Hetzner”. The Reconciliation tab lists each server.
Outside Hetscale
Servers of the project without a Hetscale label that no node group adopted, for example a database server of your own. Hetscale lists them and never shuts them down or deletes them. Nothing to do.
Quarantined
A server that carries Hetscale’s labels, yet sits in no node group’s ledger and matches no create Hetscale started. Hetscale keeps it out of the load balancer and does not delete it, and its first sighting raises an alert. Hetzner bills it until you decide:
- Delete a quarantined server on the Reconciliation tab, offered on a project whose Read & Write token works, deletes it only when its labels and its name are exactly those Hetscale gives its own servers. Anything else is refused with the reason, and you delete it in the Hetzner Console.
- Or keep it: it stays quarantined, out of the load balancer.
How Hetscale decides what it may touch is on Security.
Gone from Hetzner
Servers of a node group that Hetzner stopped listing in the last 30 days, for example one deleted in the Hetzner Console. Hetscale closed their rows, and the group’s servers follow its normal rules. Every server that disappears raises an alert, a critical one for a seed server.
